Project description
The passenger underpass Strandbadweg, which was built in 1934, runs under the Mythenquai and connects the Strandbad Mythenquai with the Belvoirpark. It was designed as a closed reinforced concrete frame structure and rests on sheet pile walls, which served as a pit securing system during construction work. The underpass is primarily used by pedestrians and cyclists.
Due to their old age, there was an inescapable need for renovation. The old ceiling panel had to be replaced by a new one in order to meet the current load-bearing and usability requirements. After the start in February 2024, at the end of November, the construction site is again fully accessible to pedestrians and road traffic after almost 10 months.
